Completed project
This project, implemented by the Government of Haiti and financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), aimed to establish a social protection system for vulnerable youth in urban and peri-urban areas, while strengthening the institutional capacities of FAES and MAST.
It included three components, the first of which was designed as an emergency humanitarian intervention targeting young people aged 18 to 35 living in vulnerable neighborhoods.
Within the CARE–CECI consortium, CECI was responsible for implementing Component I in the municipalities of Cap-Haïtien, Trou-du-Nord, and Fort-Liberté. Its mandate included:
Conducting a consultative process leading to the selection of infrastructure subproject ideas.
Setting up local management structures.
Developing detailed preliminary designs (ADPs).
Providing support and supervision for the subprojects.
Supporting youth employability through socio-emotional skills training.
community subprojects financed at around USD 50,000 each, with 70% allocated to labor and 30% to materials and equipment.
jobs created for skilled and unskilled youth.
young people trained in socio-emotional skills.
Thank you to our financial and implementation partners, without whom this project would not be possible.
