CECI Guatemala has implemented over 50 inclusive and sustainable development projects and programs focused on economic reactivation and repair of the social fabric. With a firm commitment to gender equality, we place women and girls at the forefront of our programming. We recognize their pivotal role as agents of change for climate change adaptation and promote their active participation in inclusive governance and peacebuilding in Guatemala's fragile context.
We rely on a strong team of local professionals working in partnership with key stakeholders in 14 departments of Guatemala to provide tailored and culturally relevant solutions.

CECI-Guatemala is dedicated to advancing the freedom and dignity of women and girls, particularly indigenous women, in their pursuit of a violence-free life. We adopt a holistic approach, empowering them and enhancing organizational capacities across psychosocial, economic and legal domains. Additionally, we advocate for their human rights through culturally relevant comprehensive care services and foster awareness to foster attitudinal and behavioural shifts. Our efforts include promoting positive masculinities and engaging men as allies in the pursuit of equality, while strengthening the capacities of organizations on the psychosocial, economic and legal levels.
CECI's economic empowerment approach in Guatemala aims to enable women to independently generate and manage resources, fostering their autonomy and community development. Initiatives focus on strengthening women's decision-making power, engaging men and boys to challenge unequal gender dynamics, promoting women's economic involvement and resource access, enhancing women's organizations, facilitating tailored services, and creating a supportive environment for political dialogue to uphold women's economic security and rights.
CECI-Guatemala supports the implementation of innovative approaches to help communities adapt to climate change, with increased leadership from women. Specifically, we collaborate with partner organizations to pool resources, experiences and knowledge, in order to promote the vision of Indigenous women and their paradigm of the Web of Life, inspired by the country's Indigenous cosmovisions, linking the environment to the well-being of the population.
CECI fosters inclusive governance, emphasizing the involvement of women and youth in fragile contexts and protracted crises. We aim to bridge humanitarian action, sustainable development and peace processes by collaborating with national institutions, NGOs, academia, the private sector and fellow donors within the in-country humanitarian team.
