Operating in Haiti since 1971, CECI is deeply engaged across eight of the nation's ten geographic departments, supported by a network of partners and community organizations. Our diverse projects encompass agricultural value chain development, local community and tourism initiatives, economic empowerment and advocacy for women's rights. Additionally, CECI-Haiti is dedicated to reducing vulnerability and aiding those impacted by food insecurity. These efforts are coordinated from our four local offices.

CECI-Haiti works to strengthen women's rights through educational programs focused on gender equality. Through our projects, we support civil society organizations advocating for women's rights. This support enables them to strengthen their organizational structure, gain financial autonomy and provide better quality services to more women and girls. We also support them in their efforts to engage in constructive dialogue with government bodies to better protect their rights.
CECI-Haiti's projects focus on enhancing women's entrepreneurial skills, improving their access to financial resources and advocating for equitable employment opportunities. We also collaborate with local partners to address the challenges women and youth encounter in agricultural decision-making. Our aim is to promote their participation in governance structures and throughout value chains, while facilitating tailored services such as access to loans. Through these efforts, we drive inclusive economic development.
Enhancing the capacity and leadership of communities, women and youth is vital for climate change adaptation. CECI-Haiti offers training, promotes nature-based solutions and implements resilient infrastructure projects like the Technological Innovation Program in Agriculture and Agroforestry (PITAG) and KLIMA-South. We advocate for innovative, profitable and sustainable agricultural technologies, alongside efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through sustainable energy forests and composting systems.
By supporting projects focused on transparent governance, social inclusion and peaceful conflict resolution, CECI-Haiti is helping to build a more stable and resilient society. After consulting with several Haitian partners, CECI, Maison d'Haïti and UQAM's Institut d'études internationales de Montréal launched a pilot initiative called Alliance pour la gouvernance inclusive et redevable en Haïti (AGIR). This initiative supports an endogenous process to strengthen local governance, with the aim of contributing to a lasting resolution of the country's crisis and to equitably shared prosperity.
