Ongoing project
USAID with its Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA, ex-OFDA)
including over 65% women and nearly 80% displaced individuals
CECI aims to address the acute humanitarian needs of displaced communities and host communities through food assistance, shelter, improved water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices, and the protection of women and girls in emergencies.
In the Food Assistance sector, 3,000 households will receive kits for six months, and 33% of them will benefit from cooking kits. In WASH, 20 latrine blocks will be constructed, along with awareness campaigns targeting 10,000 households against open defecation, and 200 training sessions will reach 5,000 households. Special attention will be given to WASH NFI kits, including 500 menstrual hygiene kits and training sessions for women and girls.
With the support of our local partners, Subhai Gumo Association (ASG) and the Free Association for the Promotion of Habitat and Housing (ALPHALOG), CECI strengthens the resilience of women and girls through community-based mechanisms, awareness on gender-based violence (GBV), and improved access to psychosocial services. These actions aim to restore the dignity and confidence of affected communities.
