To enable Malian women and girls to fully enjoy their rights, we support community organizations and local networks. VLF - Musoya supports 19 organizations and 6 networks that defend the rights of women and girls, indirectly reaching 1.4 million people.

Mali's political and security crisis has plunged the country into a climate of instability, where the prevalence of gender-based violence is on the rise. In addition, women and girls' access to basic social services is declining. In order to contribute to efforts to improve the situation, VLF - Musoya has been set up in five regions of Mali (Kayes, Koulikoro, Sikasso, Ségou, Mopti, Gao, Bamako) where it aims to advance equality between women and men.

Optimize services for women and girls

Local organizations are improving the quality of the services they offer to women and girls by adopting innovative approaches, including the use of technology to reach people in situations of socio-economic vulnerability. VLF - Musoya also offers exchange spaces to facilitate joint initiatives between the various organizations.

Improve the effectiveness of advocacy for women's rights

To ensure that the voices of women's movements are heard more effectively, we strengthen their knowledge of Malian and international legislative frameworks. We also support the coordination of joint actions to raise public awareness and call on those in decision-making positions to act for positive and lasting change in this direction.

Support the institutional strengthening of women's organizations and networks

VLF - Musoya aims to strengthen the institutional, human, technical and financial capacities of local community organizations. We support them in adopting innovative management and programming practices to sustain their viability. We pay particular attention to the role of young girls in these structures, as they represent the next generation.

Leadership and collaboration to support women's movements in Mali

Mali's laws are committed to defending the rights of women and girls, and to outlawing all discrimination based on gender. Despite this, women and girls face multiple obstacles in exercising their civil, political, economic and social rights. In addition, the political and security crisis affecting Mali has plunged the country into a climate of instability where the prevalence of gender-based violence is increasing.

Access to basic social services remains limited for women, and legal measures to support their participation in the political sphere are not being applied. As women's and girls' rights organizations struggle to coordinate their actions, the VLF - Musoya project supports all facets of their leadership development.
