The PCV is carried out in partnership with Equitas, Ouranos, Carrefour de solidarité internationale de Sherbrooke, Centre international de solidarité du Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean, Comité de solidarité de Trois-Rivières, University of Waterloo, University of Ottawa and Université Laval.

It aims to improve the economic and social well-being of 2 million of the world's poorest and most vulnerable people, including at least 1.5 million women and young women. Working in close collaboration with over 100 local partners, CECI volunteers are helping to strengthen the economic power of women and young people, as well as increasing the resilience of communities in the face of climate change. Since its inception, the program has mobilized more than 15,000 volunteers in Benin, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Rwanda, Guatemala and Nepal, as well as in Bolivia and Haiti.

Initiatives to increase women's social, economic and political participation

CECI's approach is based on the realization that women are the main actors of sustainable change, which will lead to a more inclusive and equitable society. The various PCV initiatives therefore aim to strengthen the place and leadership of women of all ages. The program prioritizes strengthening their economic and political power in order to increase their autonomy and fulfillment, as well as the well-being of communities.

Volunteer cooperation as a development tool

CECI's volunteer programs are based on the mutual strengthening of organizations and networks. They pool expertise, skills and know-how to act more effectively against poverty and support prevention, management and adaptation to climate change.

Formulas for all Canadians

The program offers Canadians a number of interesting volunteering options: universal volunteering, the NQSF project, academic volunteering, solidarity leave and remote volunteering.

Volunteer cooperation in the context of climate crisis

Sharing expertise to create safer, more inclusive and sustainable environments.

In a context where economic poverty is combined with natural disasters and the effects of the climate crisis, support for the participation of women in vulnerable situations is now crucial. Sharing knowledge and expertise to strengthen the economic and political power of women facing climate adaptation is a central objective of the PCV.

Aspiring to sustainable and inclusive development, the program fosters their blossoming in their communities through political dialogue and the acquisition of new capacities to generate and administer resources.
