Implemented in 32 municipalities of the North and North-East departments of Haiti, the RESEPAG-OFSV project supported agricultural producers by improving access to extension services and technical training. Created in the wake of the 2010 earthquake, the project contributed to Haiti’s national agricultural investment plan. The Co-Financing Fund for Agricultural Extension Services (FSV) funded local initiatives led by Rural Producer Organizations (OPR). Managed by the Alliance Agricole Internationale (AAI), the project strengthened public institutions, supported coordination mechanisms, and helped OPR implement inclusive and environmentally responsible sub-projects. RESEPAG-OFSV also promoted innovations in agricultural value chains and improved the nutritional quality of food production.
Following the 2010 earthquake, the Haitian government developed an ambitious agricultural recovery plan. As part of this effort, the RESEPAG-OFSV project structured technical support to OPRs through a co-financing fund and reinforced the capacity of the Ministry of Agriculture's decentralized structures. Implemented by the Alliance Agricole Internationale, the project supported sub-project development, management, and evaluation. It promoted priority technologies and sustainable value chains, while ensuring the integration of gender, environmental, and nutritional dimensions. Thanks to the commitment of OPRs and local coordination bodies, RESEPAG-OFSV helped build a more inclusive, efficient, and sustainable rural agricultural system.
