It is with sadness that we inform you of the death, on Friday, December 31, of our long-time volunteer Ms. Fatou Seck. Mrs. Seck was part of the CECI family for 11 years and her great contribution to women's entrepreneurship is more than considerable. She will leave a notable mark on the lives of many women and young women in Africa for whom she has given much of her time.
Her last mandate with CECI was within the framework of the Volunteer Cooperation Program as a consultant in women's entrepreneurship and organizational development in Senegal. Fatou Seck was a dynamic, passionate, committed woman and definitely a specialist in her field of expertise. Last December, she was the recipient of the Rosario Demers Award, which recognizes a volunteer who has demonstrated exceptional commitment.
She has supported, advised and motivated many rural women and young men in their journey. Fatou Seck knew the realities of women and youth in Senegal very well, which allowed her to work with partner organizations to propose support that best met their specific needs. Her contribution to CECI, her ability to make the various partner organizations shine and her experience in participatory and inclusive training are elements that no one will forget about her time. All the teams with whom she has collaborated recognize her commitment, her ethics and her sense of responsibility.
The CECI’s team is deeply saddened by this news and we offer our most sincere condolences to the family.
