A Transformative Ecosystem for Women’s Entrepreneurship in Bolivia

Bolivia

In response to persistent economic inequalities, the TEA WEEB project is fostering an innovative and inclusive ecosystem to meet the needs of women entrepreneurs and business owners in Bolivia. Led by CECI and Fundación IES, and funded by the Government of Canada through Global Affairs Canada, this project aims to strengthen micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) led by women in La Paz, Cochabamba, Santa Cruz, and El Alto.

With a key objective: changing the rules of the game, the TEA WEEB project goes beyond financial support. It works to reshape the norms and structures that limit women’s economic autonomy. To date, it has supported more than 5,600 people, 90% of whom are women, by providing tailored services and innovative strategies.

Concrete initiatives for sustainable impact

Entrepreneurial development services
Platforms like “Tu consultorio empresarial” offer specialized business management services to women entrepreneurs and business owners, strengthening their leadership and interpersonal skills.

Networking opportunities
Initiatives like “Nosotras en el Ecosistema Empresarial” create spaces for exchange and collaboration among women entrepreneurs. These networks not only generate business opportunities but also build confidence and enhance women’s strategic decision-making abilities.

Strengthening women’s business chambers and networks
Through a focus on governance, service portfolio development, and advocacy capacity, the TEA WEEB project supports the structuring of women’s entrepreneurial associations.

Training and mentorship
Targeted programs help bridge the digital divide and enhance women’s participation in key economic sectors. Training in leadership, financial management, and business development improves their enterprises’ competitiveness.

Co-laboratory of solutions
A collaborative space where businesses and organizations co-create and implement solutions to reduce gender inequalities in entrepreneurial ecosystems. It brings together stakeholders from the private sector, public institutions, and civil society to develop locally adapted strategies.

Influencing public policies
The TEA WEEB project works with local authorities to integrate a gender perspective into policies that promote women’s economic autonomy, emphasizing shared responsibility in caregiving. By analyzing the specific challenges faced by women, it contributes to the concrete improvement of municipal services for women entrepreneurs.

By promoting inspiring models and positive narratives, the TEA WEEB project helps build a more equitable future for Bolivian women. This initiative represents a dynamic movement for change, where women are recognized as economic actors, key players in innovation and inclusive growth. A hopeful step toward more fair, sustainable, and accessible entrepreneurship for all.
