We are pleased to announce the winner of this year’s CECI Recognition Award, Julio Agustín. This Award celebrates the exceptional commitment of one person who has left a mark on the organization’s history and helped change lives. It recognizes Julio’s remarkable journey with CECI, which began in 2002 when he was assigned the role of technical administrator on the PREPAZ project, in Guatemala.
Ever since, Julio has shown dedication and commitment in his work on a range of programs that have brought CECI recognition in Guatemala, Canada and in the rest of the world. We would especially like to thank him for his contribution to the Rebuilding Community Housing Project funded by the UNPD, the USAID Violence Prevention Program, which was implemented by CECI and RTI, and the Organization, Production Diversification and Commercialization for Small-scale Producers in Guatemala’s Mayan Communities Project, for which he is now a coordinator
We would also like to thank him for supporting and playing a major role in developing proposals for the Humanitarian Aid 12E Project assisting people affected by tropical storm 12E, in addition to the Prevention of Violence against Women and Girls Project.
His commitment and social awareness go far beyond his work with CECI. Julio is also actively involved in his community and is recognized as a person who makes a real difference in the lives of those around him. Julio often works behind the scenes, but always does so with passion. His name and actions deserve public recognition, which is what we are doing this evening!
We are very proud to count Julio among our most loyal “CECIans”! We sincerely thank him for tirelessly promoting our values of cooperation, respect, equity and commitment!
