Develop Your Employees’ Expertise While Generating Social Impact
Offer your staff a strategic experience that strengthens their skills and expands your organization’s capacity for innovation internationally. CECI’s Solidarity Leave allows your employees to carry out a 3- to 4-week international volunteer assignment, an opportunity to develop key competencies while enhancing your employer brand.
Participating in Solidarity Leave is a strategic investment in your teams and a contribution to a more equitable world:
Innovation, creativity, analytical thinking, intercultural communication, and the ability to work within multicultural teams.
Increased staff recognition, stronger sense of belonging, and improved satisfaction at work.
A distinctive experience that helps attract and retain top talent.
Strengthen your ESG/RSE positioning through structured international initiatives and credible local partnerships.
Your organization signs an agreement with CECI to participate in the program.
CECI provides turnkey promotional materials and supports you in the recruitment process based on your needs.
Selected employee-volunteers receive pre-departure training and ongoing support on site from CECI staff.
Upon return, learnings and experiences are shared internally to inspire and strengthen organizational culture.
Studies show that an international mandate develops leadership, adaptability, and intercultural collaboration skills more effectively than conventional training. For Canadian employers, this participation also represents a credible social responsibility initiative directly linked to talent development and strategic positioning.

Solidarity Leave is made possible through employer support and funding from Global Affairs Canada.
Your staff’s safety is ensured: CECI operates with rigorous protocols and local offices to support volunteers’ health and security. Comprehensive insurance (hospitalization, emergency evacuation, medication and vaccine reimbursement) is provided to all participants.
With more than 800 mandates carried out alongside fifty Canadian companies, Solidarity Leave offers a unique opportunity to develop your teams while contributing to positive global impact.
Solidarity Leave is a branch of CECI's Volunteer Cooperation Program funded by the Government of Canada.
