The aim of the project is to promote the sustainable development of Haiti by positioning the Département du Nord as the country's leading tourism destination, and to facilitate the implementation of a joint public-private management of the tourism destination Nord, with the participation of local operators - communities and individuals, rural and urban micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) - by promoting a competitive tourism offer based on historical, cultural and natural attractions that are unique in the Caribbean region.
Main achievements.
structure for concerted action and management of the Nord destination developed: the Destination Management Organization (DMO), a non-profit organization whose members come from both the public and private sectors.
