In the face of the climate emergency and the accelerating degradation of landscapes in West Africa, forest restoration cannot succeed without the active inclusion of those who depend on them the most: rural women.

In Ghana, the Modified Taungya System (MTS) is emerging as an innovative agroforestry model and a promising “Nature-Based Solution” (NBS). By enabling communities to grow food crops while tending to young forest trees, the MTS offers a concrete response to the dual challenges of deforestation and food insecurity. However, secure access to land and equitable benefit-sharing remain major barriers for women.

We invite you to an exclusive webinar that will explore how the MTS can be optimized to become a true driver of economic empowerment for Ghanaian women, while maximizing the potential for carbon sequestration and biodiversity restoration.

In english only.
