Strengthening climate-resilient techniques and technologies

Haiti

Several stakeholders from the Baradères-Cayemites Protected Area (southwest Haiti) participated in training workshops on climate-resilient practices to address climate challenges and ecosystem degradation, while promoting sustainable and inclusive environmental governance focused on women's leadership.

In a context of accelerated ecosystem degradation and increasing vulnerability to climate change, the Koridò Vèt project, implemented by the CECI-VTI consortium, works to strengthen environmental resilience and promote sustainable governance within the Baradères-Cayemites Protected Area complex.

Support structures made up of government officials, local authorities, technical and implementation partners, and community-based organizations (CBOs) participated in a training workshop on climate-resilient techniques and technologies that can restore degraded ecosystems, protect natural resources, and ensure their sustainable use.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to create an ecosystem of skilled and committed actors capable of contributing effectively to biodiversity conservation and territorial resilience in the face of climate challenges.

Inclusive environmental governance driven by stakeholders

Through these workshops held in Baradères and Corail, the Koridò Vèt project, funded by Global Affairs Canada, illustrates the importance of an inclusive and participatory approach that places local actors at the heart of environmental governance and natural resource sustainability. This approach is a strategic lever for the adoption and dissemination of sustainable practices within local communities.
