CECI is pleased to participate in the very first edition of Montreal Climate Week, which will take place from September 8 to 13, 2026, and will bring together citizens, organizations, and communities to discuss climate issues and solutions for a more just, sustainable, and resilient future.

On this occasion, the photo exhibition The Matriarchs of the Forest will be presented during the closing event Indigenous Leadership, Community Care, and Resilient Futures, organized by the David Suzuki Foundation on September 12, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Daphne Art Center.

Produced in Bolivia as part of CECI’s Volunteer Cooperation Program, in collaboration with APCOB (Apoyo Para el Campesino-Indígena del Oriente Boliviano), the exhibition highlights the perspectives of young Indigenous people from Chiquitanía on the elder women in their communities. Through a series of portraits and testimonials, it highlights their essential role in passing down knowledge, preserving ecosystems, and ensuring community resilience in the face of climate change.

This event offers an inspiring convergence of Indigenous leadership, intergenerational knowledge transfer, and climate action.
