Partnerships and Communications Advisor

Under the supervision of the Director of Communications and Philanthropic Development, and in close collaboration with the Volunteer Cooperation Program Department, the incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing communications activities.

The opportunity

The Partnerships and Communications Advisor is responsible for informing and engaging Canadians on international development issues related to women's leadership in the climate-resilient economy. She or he advises the CECI teams and works closely with the project manager, women's economic empowerment, strategy and development, and partners on public engagement activities and various communications activities.

Main responsibilities

Public engagement

  • Contributes to the development and updating of CECI's public engagement strategy, driven by the Volunteer Cooperation Program (PCV).
  • Develops and implements the annual public engagement activity plan in line with the strategy, and ensures collaboration with CECI's stakeholders in its implementation.
  • Coordinates and organizes events, and produces communication tools and content for various platforms designed to raise awareness and engage the Canadian public on international cooperation issues related to women's leadership in the climate-resilient economy.
  • Contributes to the organization's positioning through idea leadership specifically on the theme of women's leadership in the climate-resilient economy

Partnership development

  • Develops and nurtures partnerships, including technical content, with organizations specializing in women's economic empowerment and women's entrepreneurship in Canada and the Global South, with a view to reaching new audiences representative of Canada's diversity.
  • Facilitates and oversees technical exchanges between partners in the field of women's economic empowerment and/or women's entrepreneurship.
  • Designs and facilitates collaborative projects and exchange platforms (e.g. webinars) between organizations in the North and South to ensure mutually beneficial knowledge sharing.

Monitoring, evaluation, learning and administration

  • Ensures the coordination of adequate data and reporting quality for communication and public engagement activities, in collaboration with the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Project Manager and the different teams, for the annual report and the PCV.
  • Participates in PCV coordination meetings
  • Participates in the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget for the PCV public engagement component.


This position is for you if you are :

  • Able to work under pressure, to manage several files at once and to deliver quality work quickly

And if you have :

  • Experience and advanced level of knowledge in women's economic empowerment, women's entrepreneurship, women's leadership and/or the green economy
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or a related and relevant discipline, or experience deemed equivalent
  • Ten (10) years' experience in communications and/or public engagement, including at least seven (7) years in partnership development
  • Very good knowledge of French, both oral and written, with intermediate English and knowledge of Spanish an asset
  • Good knowledge of new information technologies and social media
