Under the supervision of the CECI Guatemala Director and the Latin America Program Manager, the Project Director will oversee the overall management of the project, including design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and accountability. They will provide strategic guidance on business development, financial inclusion, and women’s empowerment to enhance gender equality and the socio-economic conditions of young Indigenous women participating in the project, as well as their families and communities.
They will ensure the achievement of results, compliance with commitments, and coordination with project partners, including the private sector, civil society, the Guatemalan government, and cooperation agencies. They will lead a team of five regional coordinators, a monitoring and evaluation specialist, an accountant, and two specialists in Indigenous women's rights and communication and advocacy.
Lead project planning, budgeting, execution, monitoring, and evaluation to ensure the achievement of results and efficient resource management.
Plan and execute project activities in collaboration with partners and field teams.
Participate in diagnostics, implementation planning, and baseline establishment.
Ensure the implementation of planned activities, including procurement of goods and services following donor and CECI procedures.
Monitor performance indicators in collaboration with the monitoring and evaluation specialist.
Coordinate the timely submission of technical and financial reports.
Manage relationships with local partners (civil society organizations, private sector, government institutions) and foster their active involvement.
Oversee coordination between the various project management committees (steering committee, technical committee, coordination committee).
Represent the project and CECI in meetings, working groups, and strategic events.
Plan and manage financial and material resources according to CECI and donor regulations and procedures.
Ensure budget compliance and coordinate with the accounting team for fund management.
Guarantee proper administration of resources and financial transparency.
Participate in the recruitment and supervision of project volunteers and staff.
Ensure the security and well-being of volunteers in collaboration with partners.
Organize tripartite meetings to monitor volunteers and partners.
Ensure the documentation and dissemination of results by systematizing best practices and lessons learned.
Collaborate with the communications team to promote the project through communication materials and knowledge management.
A university degree in economic development, business administration (entrepreneurship focus), or a related field. A master’s degree is an asset.
Strong knowledge of the entrepreneurial sector and economic development in Africa.
Solid skills in planning, coordination, and results-based management.
Proven experience in managing international development projects.
A strong interest in sustainable development, women’s rights, and gender equality.
Excellent command of French and good communication skills in English.
Experience in supporting partner organizations and capacity building.
