Principal Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership Development
- Develops and implements a strategy to mobilize and engage private-sector partnerships in Canada and in program countries.
- Formulates and implements a compelling value proposition that highlights the strengths, expertise, and unique benefits of a partnership with CECI, and tailors it to different partners.
- Develops and nurtures partnerships—including those involving technical content—with organizations specializing in women’s economic empowerment, women’s entrepreneurship, or the climate sector in Canada and the Global South, with the goal of reaching new audiences that reflect Canada’s diversity.
- Develops the entire process and tools for the partnership management cycle, including partner selection, negotiation, due diligence, agreement drafting and risk assessment, monitoring, evaluation, conflict resolution, and more.
- Provides coaching to staff, volunteers, and partner organizations in program countries on how to contribute and collaborate effectively with the private sector.
- Monitors, evaluates, and documents the impact of partnerships with the Canadian private sector and program countries in terms of their contribution to the PCV’s results.
- Mobilizes contributions from the private sector by identifying co-financing opportunities aligned with our programs—particularly those focused on women’s economic empowerment—and by leading the development of impactful proposals.
- In collaboration with the Women’s Economic Empowerment Specialist, designs and facilitates collaborative projects and knowledge-sharing platforms (e.g., webinars) between organizations in the North and South to ensure mutually beneficial knowledge sharing.
- Consolidates partnership assessments by analyzing quantitative and qualitative results and identifying lessons learned.
- Actively network at various events to gauge the landscape and develop new partnerships.
Public Engagement
- Contributes to updating and implementing CECI’s public engagement strategy, led by the PCV.
- Develops and implements the annual public engagement activity plan related to partnerships in line with the strategy, and ensures collaboration with CECI stakeholders for its implementation.
- Coordinates and organizes events and produces communication content with our partners to raise awareness and engage the Canadian public on international cooperation issues related to women’s economic empowerment in green growth.
- Maintains an overview of all PCV partnerships and ensures that the various stakeholders (internal teams, partners, volunteers) contribute to them.
Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Administration
- Helps coordinate relevant data and reporting for public engagement activities, in collaboration with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Project Officer, for the PCV’s annual report.
- Ensures the cross-cutting integration of strategies for gender equality, rights and diversity, environmental sustainability, and innovation across all partnership activities.
- At all times, and particularly when traveling, ensures compliance with the organization’s safety guides, manuals, directives, and instructions.
- Performs any other tasks required to achieve the objectives of the Communications and Philanthropic Development team and the Volunteer Cooperation Program.

And if you have:
- A bachelor’s degree in economics, management, communications, international development, or a related and relevant field, or equivalent experience
- More than 10 years of experience in business development and/or communications and/or entrepreneurship, including 7 years in partnership development or management.
- Experience in the international cooperation sector is an asset
- Experience organizing public events, ideally in partnership with others
- Very good knowledge of French, both spoken and written
- Intermediate English proficiency to collaborate with international colleagues
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, ideally with an extensive network of contacts in Quebec’s private sector
- Skills in negotiation and partnership management
- Strong ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver high-quality work quickly
- Ability to meet deadlines, with attention to detail
- Availability in the evenings and on weekends for meetings and activities, as required
- Good knowledge of new information technologies and social media.
