Socio del consorcio

Institutional partners (ministries) such as MPCE, MCFDF and MDE, territorial collectivities (city halls), and organizations from civil society.

  • Education partners include the technical and department directorates of the MENFP, the INFP, the primary schools and the professional and technical training institutions (PTT).
  • Partners in economic development include MCI, VSEs/SMEs, associations, cooperatives, unions and chambers of commerce.

VCP’s main goal is to improve institutional and organizational capacities of some key sector actors (government agencies, universities, primary schools, professional training centres, civil society organizations, businesses), contributing to the reduction of poverty and the recovery of Haiti.

Technical Support from Volunteers

The program aims primarily to engage Canadian and Haitian-Canadian volunteer consultants to embark on missions in Haiti to provide technical support to our Haitian partner institutions and organizations. Depending on the needs of our partners, volunteer assignments can vary in length from two weeks to twelve months.

Improving Management Skills

The project seeks to empower professionals in government, local authorities and civil society to improve their management techniques, the quality of their customer service, and their communication tools. Actors from the network of primary schools are also supported to improve their management skills and teaching methods. People targeted through the project are also trained or coached on business management and or services management for businesses and investors.

An Economic Focus for the End of the Project

The project’s extension for two more years (6 and 7) comes with two major developments. On the one hand, the programming, which was until then divided equally between governance, education, professional and technical training (PTT) and economic development will now focus at 75% on economic development and PTT. On the other hand,
the Nord region has been added as a target region, where the VCP will support other initiatives of CECI’s partners in the tourism sector.
